About us

Saddle Synergy are official agents for Heather Moffet. We supply her new concept saddle the Fhoenix Fits-All flexible saddle and accessories.

Company founder Jill has spent many years working and training horses and has specialized for over five years in training ‘problem’ horses. It became apparent that many problems were due to badly made and fitted saddles. After extensive training, Jill has spent the past four years saddle fitting and specialized in holistic work which predominantly involved working to improve horses movement and and damage caused by muscle atrophy. It is the combined knowledge of the horses behaviour, physical wellbeing and the construction and fitting of saddles, that enables Jill to endorse this flexible saddle.

Jill is happy to visit you and your horse at your home for you to ride in the Fhoenix.

Besides selling these saddles Jill still deals with behavioural problem horses and combines further training using some Spanish and Portugese methods in ground training and ridden work.

I would like to introduce you to the horses on this website

The grey mare is my horse and her name is Afortunada but I have always called her baby. Baby is a 4 year old Andalucian I have owned since Feb 03. When she was 3 I started long lining her in the menage and also out on the roads and bridle ways. I also trained her using the Spanish and Portugese ground training methods. I started her at 3 but I only rode her for 2 or 3 weeks. She was then left until the end of Feb this year when we moved to Exmoor. We arrived and had no schooling facilities so we just hit the moors, crossing deep rivers on a daily basis to get onto the bridle paths. Some of the bridle paths were 30 foot high above the river bank and just wide enough for a horse. Very scary for me but Baby never wavered and thought that this was normal hacking! We then moved to Wales and the riding there is just as scary at times. We now have the use of a field which we have been schooling in. The photos on here were taken at the end of August when I was 6 months pregnant. I am still riding now at 7 months and hope to carry on as long as possible. I feel that the comfort of the SBS is why I am still able to ride. The Baby has shown no signs of discomfort in the SBS even with my weight increase.

The dark bay dales pony is Lucy, she is owned by Leanne a client and friend of mine. Leanne bought Lucy 3 years ago for her trekking centre. Lucy is now 12 years old and had been used for driving and breeding. Leanne bought her just after her last foal had been weaned. Lucy became such a great little pony Leanne used her as her lead horse on the trekking centre. Lucy had little quirkes when she first arrived, she wasn't good to be mounted, she didn't know left from right and she only had one speed, mega fast trot! All of these problems have been ironed out, some taking longer than others. Leanne describes Lucy as "a little gem". Leanne recently purchased two SBS saddles, 1 dressage and 1 GP. Leanne also has a trakehner which she bred. We backed her this summer in a SBS GP saddle. She has been hacked out since that day in the Fhoenix and has had no problems at all.
The bay gelding Bones belongs to my partner, Doug. Bones is a 6 year old who was rescued as a baby by a friend of ours in such a terrible condition hence his name. Bones had decided that riders were people he was not going to entertain, well only for his own amusement! Bones would make sure that his riders got off and not in the conventional way! At the beginning of Feb we decided to take Bones on and take him with the Baby to Exmoor, but of course then came the tricky bit yep riding him. I long lined him in the menage and then Doug got on and nothing happened, Bones I feel had decided to come out of retirement that day, and it had absolutely nothing to do with Doug's capability as a rider. We were not able to ride again until the end of the month when we moved the horses to Exmoor, and as with the Baby we just hit the moors. Bones has never looked back and I think he secretly enjoys himself. I wanted to eliminate any kind of discomfort right at the start so Bones has been ridden in the Fhoenix saddle from that very first day in Feb.
